Illinois Gas Tax Increase Takes Effect This Week

Illinois' gas tax increases to $0.483 per gallon for gasoline and $0.558 for diesel, effective July 1, based on inflation. The state has one of the highest fuel tax rates, funding infrastructure maintenance and construction amidst concerns over revenue shortfalls.
